Nancy Pelosi
Anyone who comes
under such withering and dishonest attack by the White House and
the Bushevik Royal Court
media is certainly worthy
of BuzzFlash's notice.
But Nancy Pelosi deserves special recognition for her recent trip
to the Middle East. Pelosi's efforts to emphasize diplomacy
over killing were such a threat to Bush's ongoing war that
the White House went ballistic. Karl Rove rolled out the big guns
and fired several volleys -– through the GOP media echo chamber
-- of disingenuous, hostile, and scurrilous attacks on the Speaker
of the House.
Pelosi put the fear of peace in Bush, Cheney, and Rove –- and
peace to them is like sticking a stake into the heart of Dracula.
The road to Damascus was just one of Pelosi's recent acts
of leadership that have showed her to be more presidential and
worthy of representing the U.S. on the world stage than Mr. Bush
or Mr. Cheney.
Pelosi has shown a quiet kind of resolve in the midst of character
assassination by the White House. Given all the Democrats who still
succumb to the bullying of the Bushevik thugs, Pelosi does not
appear intimidated.
She may be pragmatic when it comes to counting the votes, but her
actions speak more loudly than what she can muster from her fractious
caucus.
Nancy Pelosi, keep acting like a leader. It gives us reason for
hope, and for that, you merit this week's BuzzFlash
Wings of Justice Award.
