David Sirota

We got to know David Sirota a bit when he was communications director for then-Congressman Bernie Sanders. Back then, David was serving his apprenticeship in learning about the corruption of D.C. by the power of big money.

Since then, David has become a pugilist for progressive politics at its best, specializing in exposing the pernicious influence of big corporate dollars on Republican and Democratic elected officials alike.

As a BuzzFlash reader notes in her nomination of Sirota for the BuzzFlash Wings of Justice Award:

"David is out there every day speaking truth to power and informing us about the abuses our government is perpetrating on us as citizens. David, while an admitted and committed liberal, does not hold back if someone who is misbehaving is a Democrat. He actually has ethics. Wow what a concept.

"He isn't always fair and balanced. Neither is the truth. I may not always agree with David about everything but never for one moment do I not respect him.

"Our country so desperately needs more like him and far, far fewer of the 'Washington Press Corps' who pretend to cover both sides of the story, when it often doesn't have two sides.

"Bless you David and please keep up the good work. Even when you are wrong, you are head and shoulders above what passes for journalists."
